We have decided to move this course to Sat/Sun 11/12 December.
 
With Auckland remaining at Level 3 until after the next review on 29 November, we won't be able to hold the course on the planned dates of 13/14 November. Hence the decision to change dates.
 
We will be in touch with course registrants via email with options to confirm the new date, hold a credit towards a future course at the 2021 price, or request a full refund.

The focus of the course is learning how to do internal vaginal and rectal examinations safely and competently.

Incontinence (urinary and faecal), pelvic organ prolapses, levator ani avulsions, bowel issues, sexual dysfunction, and pelvic pain conditions in females and males will be introduced at a basic level.

The course is very clinically focused and will give you tools to enable you to branch into the field of pelvic floor and women's and men's pelvic health physiotherapy.

A one-day course (Course 3) is run directly after Course 2, focused on the business side of pelvic health physiotherapy and how to use your unique set of new skills to maximize your business success in this field.

Ongoing professional support in various formats is also available.
Aims:
  • To advance participants’ basic knowledge of common conditions related to pelvic, women’s and men’s health.
  • Provide clinical guidance on integrating this knowledge into clinical practice.
  • Provide practical examination tools and clinical tools that participants can use immediately on return to the clinical environment.

Additional details:
  • Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea will be provided. If you have specific food requirements or allergies, we recommend you bring your own food with you.
  • As this is a practical course which involves learning how to complete internal examinations, participants must be willing and able to have vaginal and/or rectal examinations done on them by fellow attendees. We will ensure the environment is private and supportive.
  • Participants must also be willing to allow both female and male participants to examine them (if male participants wish to attend the course). Men’s health is just as important as women’s health and this course allows both females and males an opportunity to learn from each other and gain vital, practical clinical skills.
  • There will be practical assessments during the course testing clinical assessment skills learned on the weekend to ensure at the end of the course you are competent.
Reading List and Pre-course Assessment:
You will be given a pre-reading list and sent a link to a pre-course assessment that must be completed prior to course starting. This it to ensure you have read and understood the pre-reading. It will also enable you to put specific questions to Melissa in advance of the course date. This will enable smooth question and answer sessions and ensure everyone gets a chance to ask about topics they are interested in or are having issues with.
