Fully online learning
To give busy health professionals more flexible learning options and to reduce travel costs, we have made this course available fully online. It has the same content as the hybrid course and you can learn at your own pace.
Additional resources not included
To get the best out of the course, you will need access to a silicone model or similar to practice your skills and record your proof of learning videos. This model is not supplied as part of the course.
 

We recommend the Lily - Levator Ani Muscle Avulsion model that Melissa uses in the course videos. The Course Workbook has information about where to buy a Lily model including a discount code as well as suggestions for other options.

Proof of Learning
To complete the course and receive your certificate:
  • Complete the pre-reading
  • Complete the pre-course activities
  • Watch the online theory videos and take notes
  • Watch the videos of the guided practical demonstrations and practice the techniques
  • Complete the online course evaluation form
  • Submit proof of learning videos of the following procedures for Melissa to review:
  • Obtaining informed consent with a volunteer/co-worker/friend/'pillow dummy'
  • Positioning and draping of a volunteer/co-worker/friend/'pillow dummy'
  • Vaginal examination on silicone model or similar. Do not send a video of you doing the procedure on a human
  • Complete a full vaginal examination, including LAM avulsion assessment and prolapse POP-Q measures
  • Demonstrate the vaginal internal measures for pessary management
    - Internal length and width at cervix
    - Introitus measures – AP and lateral
  • Demonstrate a speculum assessment for the cervix and vaginal mucosa
  • Insertion and removal of any pessary types you have available on a silicone model or similar. Do not send a video of you doing the procedures on a human
