PESSARIES MASTERY Course (formerly Pessaries Advanced)
Our Hybrid courses combine the flexibility of online learning with the benefits of hands-on, in-person practical training. The course is delivered in two parts:
Online Learning
Complete the theory component online at your own pace through our on-demand learning platform.
Practical Session
The Practical Session focuses on developing and refining your clinical assessment, pessary fitting, and management skills through hands-on learning, practical workshops, and clinical discussions.
To help you get the most from the course, pre-reading and learning activities must be completed before attending the Practical Session. Please don't leave it to the last minute.
All required information is provided in the Course Workbook, which is available for download immediately after registration. Please download it as soon as possible and start your preparation.
Practical learning experience
This course includes multiple practical sessions designed to build confidence and competency. Participants can choose from the following learning options:
Silicone models
To support skill development, we provide advanced, realistic silicone vaginal models for vaginal examination practice. We use 'Lily - the levator ani muscle avulsion' model
Peer-to-peer learning*
Where suitable participants are available, peer-to-peer learning may also be offered during practical sessions.
This involves participants practising internal examination and pessary fitting techniques on each other with supervision, providing valuable insight into both the clinician and patient experience. Participation in peer-to-peer learning is entirely optional.
We recognise that factors such as gender, culture, religion, previous trauma, personal values, or individual preferences may influence your decision to participate. These considerations will always be respected and accommodated.
Informed consent is discussed extensively throughout the course, and participants are always free to choose whether or not they wish to participate in peer-to-peer learning. Consent can be given, declined, or withdrawn at any stage.
* Peer-to-peer learning is not offered at all locations and might also be limited by the number of course participants.
Lunch and afternoon tea are provided during the Practical Session. If you have specific dietary requirements, food intolerances, or allergies, we recommend that your bring your own food to ensure your needs are fully met.
